Training will consist of the following areas over winter:
- Power Jumping This is designed to build up stamina, increase fitness and help stride patterns.
- Box Training This will deal with all aspects of where the dogs are up to, from learning how to trigger the box to perfecting their turn which is crucial for their joints and future health.
- Speed To The Box This area will use different techniques to encourage the dogs confidence to the box.
- Return Speed This area will use different techniques to encourage the dogs speed back to the handler.
- Reward Training We will be working on finding and encouraging the dogs to be interested in something other than the ball they have just gained.
- Changeover Training This will cover all areas from those just starting out, to those who need to build up their distances etc.
- Stride Finder We will look at each dog and work out where they are most comfortable running from i.e. they do not alter there stride at the first jump.
- Knowledge This part will be aimed to improve your knowledge of the sport and the different areas of ring party involved at competitions so that you are all comfortable in any role.
Please bring chairs if you have them!
- Chase Recall This is where you release a large number of dogs with a jump apart and call them back over 6-8 jumps, encouraging them to catch the dog in front.
